Elbow Lake is located in Ogemaw County between the towns of Prescott and Greenwood. Abundant with 14+ hiking and biking trails, Ogemaw County can satisfy all your recreational needs. Located just north of Elbow Lake is Rifle River State Forest. 4,499 acres of recreational forest is also home to one of Michigan's most cherished rivers, the Rifle River. The attractive Rifle possesses sandy riverbeds, swimming areas and a mild current perfect for a relaxing river float. Other features of Rifle River State Forest include: 99 campsites, picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, wildlife viewing, and hunting.
